We are over halfway done with our foaling season & we are very pleased with what we are getting. We have 5 healthy foals on the ground – 5 fillies and 1 colt. One ASPC filly is sired by D&S Tom Collins and the other 3 fillies and colt are sired by AE Bey Star. ‘Bailey’ as we call him, is throwing some very nice foals and all of them have chrome. Two of the fillies are AMHR, one filly is AMHR/ASPC and the colt is ASPC. We are very happy with all of Bailey’s foals and our TC filly. But I do have to say that I absolutely LOVE the colt. He is definately going to be an Over Pony and I think he will be a knock-out in the performance arena. Time will tell as he continues to grow & we see more of his movement but I am very impressed so far. That leaves us with only two mares left to foal – Outlaw’s Tommy Girl is due anytime and this is also a cross that I am anxious to see as it will be the first Bailey foal out of a TC daughter. Then one of our older foundation mares is due to foal in June and her foal is sired by Sami’s Pipe N Hot, a cross we are repeating because we love the movment and refinement that Pipe N brings to this mare’s offspring. So keep watching for more foal news!

Foaling Season
Tuesday, May 17th, 2011Foal #3
Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011Foal # 3 arrived this morning & it’s another filly! This filly is out of STC’s Rhythm N Blues and sired by AE Bey Star. She is a bay/white pinto with alot of leg! I am really thrilled with the foals Bailey is giving us. This is only our 2nd foal crop from him so it is exciting to see what each new cross brings. I think this filly’s name is going to be Bey Rumba. We’ll be posting pictures as soon as we get a few days of sunshine!
Our 2nd foal has arrived!
Monday, April 25th, 2011Finally after 3 weeks of watching & waiting our 2nd foal has arrived! I was beginning to get a little anxious about the foal being too large but the filly is just the right size & mama looks great! The dam is our proven producing mare, Rowbuck Dear Abby, & the sire is our latest stallion, AE Bey Star. This will be the 2nd foaling season for Bey Star foals so we are anxious to see what he produces for us as this year’s crosses will be first time crosses with him for most of the mares. This filly is sorrel, bald face, 2 rear socks, & a little bit of white on her left front leg. She is full of fire already! Guess she was tired of being cooped up inside mama for so long! Pictures will be posted as soon as we can get some sunshine so she can get out, stretch her legs, & fill out. We will be keeping right on with night checks though as the next 4 mares are due one right after the other over the course of the next 3 weeks. So stay tuned!
Our First foal has arrived!
Monday, April 18th, 2011Our first foal of the season arrived Thursday afternoon, April 14th. I did a check at 2:30 pm, she was waxing, & I thought “This is good – we’ll have a baby by tomorrow!” I went back out at 3:30 pm to check on her & the foal was out of the sac taking her first breaths. I checked on gender and was excited to see it was a filly, true to pattern as her sire, D&S Tom Collins, predominantly throws fillies. She is a tri-colored pinto, red with a white saddle, four white legs, and a black mane & tail. Her dam is Dragon Fire’s Electric Blue. As of yet we don’t have a name for her. Watch for pictures soon on our Foal page!
Officially on Foal Watch!
Tuesday, March 29th, 2011We are officially on Foal Watch for 2011! I’ve had couple of mares in just because I like to have them separated from the other mares that last month. With the weather we’ve been having 2 of the mares have been in the barn quite a bit. Last night was the first night we did night checks as the mare was acting nervous. But it must have just been the low pressure setting over us making her uncomfortable because we don’t have any foal this morning. But we are now less than 1 week away from due dates so the time is close! I love foaling season – it’s like unwrapping a package on Christmas morning! 🙂
